The core group has performed in the NY metro area since the 1980s playing 100s of venues, clubs, parties, concerts and weddings. Historically the group has strong acappella roots and our members hail originally from Brooklyn and Queens. The Dedications also performed as the Ribitones, the Newports and the Mystics.
The Core group of Jim Pace, Frank Russo, Peter Gentile and Don Silk have been together since the 1980s and bring with them the consistency and freshness of the Dedications 1960s era sound.
Building on our DOO-WOP legacy the Dedications with the addition of John Zollo on lead, perform live music with a 4-piece vocal group and a 4–5-piece backup band. The group delivers 50/60s harmony, rock and roll, ballads, and classic rock for dancing and listening audiences.
The Dedications prefer to perform with a full band. At the current time the group consists of a lead singer three dedicated background singers and two additional singers from the musical backline. Four of the background singers sing lead vocals which provides a multi-style aspect to the Dedications performances.
Musical accompaniment is Drums, Bass, Keyboards, Guitar and Sax when desired,.
On occasion for short intimate venues the group can provide acappella with guitar accompaniment or utilize music tracks in smaller venues not capable of accommodating a full band.
A history of recording projects and record releases from the 1960s till today.
The Dedications Legacy would not exist without the people who have supported and contributed to our success as a 50s/60s group.

It wasn't Greg's idea!
When he was 12 years old his two best friends had a hare-brained idea to start a band. A tin drum set with plastic heads, a Hohner electric organ, a Fender Jaguar guitar and three kids in the basement. Greg has been playing live and recording ever since, the last twenty-seven years with Risky Business. He is a quick study and a good utility vocalist; handy for playing with two bands at once. The Dedications are giving Greg lots of opportunity to sharpen his skills playing in "less familiar" keys. Thanks, fellas. ;)
Like some other members of the group, Greg has a home studio and has done even more recording than usual during the pandemic year. Mostly he works alone, but has produced and arranged music for other artists as well. He's also made a hobby out of collecting instruments and trying to make music with them. His rapidly expanding collection includes acoustic and electric guitars, bass (his favorite), ukulele, autoharp, melodica, banjo and a trove of what his wife refers to as "bangy things" - various hand drums and other things to beat on, rattle and shake. That "hare-brained idea" was fifty years ago. Greg is still having a blast.
